Learn the significance of symbols in local town seal. Follow a timeline of Delaware and U.S. history from Native American settlements through World War II in the best small museum in Delaware. Use interactive displays that focus on maritime life, the poultry industry, the DuPont Nylon Plant and much more!
During the tour of the museum, students will:
- Identify local natural resources and geographic characteristics that impacted the life and development of a community and area.
- Identify economic factors relating to trade, growth of a town, taxation, child labor laws, and more.
- Identify the impact of the Mason-Dixon Line, Patty Cannon, ship building, a bridge, Harriet Tubman, and women in the workplace.
- Identify the contributions of the poultry industry and DuPont nylon. Experience hands-on activities selected to
reinforce curriculum.
Please ensure there is one adult to accompany every 10 students.
