The Seaford Historical Society (SHS) has fully restored The Ross Mansion, a rare, Italian Villa style brick home. Once the home of Governor Ross and his family, the Mansion is a testament to Southern living. We are happy to open the Ross Mansion for small (maximum 40) rentals.
The historic Plantation grounds, also available for rental offer an attractive country setting. Mature hardwood trees on the lawns and by the stately Mansion provide shade for guests. Large open areas are easily accessible for the placement of your tents, exhibits or displays. Electrical and water service are available, along with parking for over 200 cars.
Beginning in March 2019 we will also offer an indoor venue, the Ross Station which can be used for larger event rentals and weddings. Ceremonies can be held on the beautiful grounds with a reception in Ross Station. Ross Station will offer a catering kitchen, a conference/meeting room, restrooms and a large ballroom that can accommodate up to 225 people.
We are pleased to partner with the community by making the historic Mansion, scenic Plantation grounds and Ross Station available to rent for outdoor or indoor weddings, receptions, shows, or other events. Although all the grounds are available for rent, most renters find the West Lawn (next to the Mansion) or the South Lawn (across the driveway from the front door) most convenient. Other locations may require additional rentals of portable generators for electricity, or do not have access to water.
The outbuildings are furnished as museum exhibits and are not available for rental.
